My dreams are the opposite. I am doing something then I see something attacks me and I have a really poor weapon for the situation, such as my baton, It mostly turns into a long drawn out fight since the person keeps coming after me and won't die.
Moe dreams for me mostly turn horribly wrong by either the person of interest being killed by said aberration which then transitions to my normal dreams or inviting me to something nice like my favorite food or a comfy chair then trying to strangle me from behind... which then transitions to my normal dreams...

I tend to dream of being a grunt in some hovel/city/forest/wasteland who fought alongside a bunch of dudes in a grinding battle against impossible odds.
Which always ends with me dying. The 'impossible odds' really are impossible.

Let's see, there's this one dream where I was a soldier in a trench arming the machine gun. Killed by stray headshot. The other one was a Warcraft related one where, after killing a bunch of Felhounds and those hulking Fel warriors, got landed on by an Infernal. There's also this one where I was a knight whose courser was killed. Stabbed in the back. There's another one where I was still a knight and got blasted by a cannon. And another as an infantryman in a formation who was unfortunate enough to be on the front row. The one where I didn't die was a fantastic dream where I was spectating rooster-themed knights on giant roosters (literal giant roosters) running down elfs.

There was a 1980s video game with a similar theme, except the knights were riding ostriches and I don't think there was any elf genocide involved. I think it was called Joust.
