Well, to be fair, nothing was in the rules against it. Also, I am going to guess that the weapon rigging core makes them tougher and stronger.

One should also take note of the recently uploaded comics that involve Admiral Kamio organizing a 4-hour-long game of "onigokko" (basically the Japanese equivalent of "tag"), only with the participants (which include himself) divided into specific teams. Our dear admiral is, of course, on the "oni" team (i.e. those who hunt non-"oni" members)... as are the shipgirls whom he considers to be the ONLY ones who showed promise in his previous boot camp from hell: Hibiki, Shiranui, Sendai, and KAGA.

The punishment for the losers? A SECOND boot camp under Kamio's supervision.

Nagato was one of only four "winners" (read: SURVIVORS) of said onigokko game, the others being Inazuma, Suzuya, and Shigure. Out of a grand total of TWENTY TWO SHIPGIRLS on the non-oni side. That's right: 5 to 22 odds, and only 4 out of the latter succeeded in evading the former for 4 hours straight.

Whelp, Nagato had better have improved her skills and resourcefulness from last time.
