    There's a clever reason why though. The Orchid Mantis gets its name from mimicking the appearance of an orchid flower. Lurantis is the opposite: It's a plant mimicking the Mantis based on Orchids instead. It's a reverse-mimic, if such a thing were even possible.

    I thought they just decided not to give it bug type because otherwise it'd be too close to Leavanny.

    To be fair, there were a number of dual-typings that were unique for a time before something else came in to fill their role as well.
