Hisahiko's earlier work has plenty of serious moments, just check the older art posted in Danbooru.

I still prefer this to his ero books. Plus, Shino (ponjiyuusu) has shown it's possible to have cute art with serious/dramatic storylines several times over.

I also appreciate seeing Hiei get to be a badass.

Me too, I prefer his current works... Much cuter and endearing, without the sexual slavery (all that elf slave art he did, if I recall) ruining things.

Guys, I suggest you read the sample of the last part. It doesn't start off very daijobou.
