  • 司令官が何も言わなくても、手の様子やキズで頑張ってるのが分かる雷。司令官お疲れ様。

Ikazuchi, who understands, from the wounds in the commander's hands, that he did his best, even though he didn't say a thing. Thank you for your hard work, commander.

Google renders this commentary, as always, a bit hilariously: "Even commander is not say anything, thunder that it can be seen that are working hard at the hands of state and scratches. Commander cheers for good work."

I'm going to guess that means something like, "Even if the Commander doesn't say anything, Ikazuchi can see he's working hard (? from the state of his hands) and (? hugs him). Commander, thanks for your good work." That's too wild-ass a guess to go calling it a proper translation, though, so I'll leave that to people who actually know the dang language. :)

Also, and perhaps more relevantly, hanomido's tiny Ikazuchi spreads soothing balm on my troubled soul.

That was a surprisingly accurate guess, except for the hug part.

Thanks. I wasn't sure whether the "and scratches" had to do with the condition of his hands as well, or if it was some kind of weird translation artifact having to do with a Japanese idiom I didn't know (e.g., some other way of describing the act of comforting someone). Given the position it ended up taking in the word salad, the latter seemed like it might be a possibility, but it was the thing about the translation I was least sure I was parsing properly.
