I actually like that kind of look for a protagonist, its just that there is rarely any variance on the base look. Give me curly hair, dark skin, and/or bearded men, not just straight hair, white skin, and smooth chin boys.

Not sure about other traits, but I've seen a fair amount of the dark skin variant (usually with their hair dyed blonde) in Netorare/Netori VNs...

Maybe it's just me, but the Shermie look fits her quite nicely.
She looks really adorable with this new hairstyle for some reason.

Oh yeah, I've seen those type of guys fill in when its not just ugly/fat guys.

I would actually like to see a black protagonist take the spotlight, sorta like in the style of boondocks: American art style for men, Japanese art style for women. Or maybe an older, Geralt of Rivia-esque manly protagonist. Or a protagonist who straight up just looks like a heroine, like in that one VN Otome Domain.
