okay, if Warspite is sick after that, it should be in the "food of doom" for sure.

I believe what Freddy's talking about is a case where Soused herring wasn't prepared properly, making it go sour.

This seems like some in-depth research on Freddy's part. Anyone know of some good books that cover Warspite's history? I know there are a few of them out there.

How about "Battleship Warspite: The Most Active Battleship of World War II"? Freddy's been saying he referenced that book for all these pages...

Well, at least there should be historical cases of food going bad with your other shipgirl colleagues, right?

But seriously, dahell happened for those herring tins to go bad? Didn't know how to prepare it or bad tinning procedure?

Hail, Scandinavian friend surströmming! We Southeast Asian tempoyak greet you!

(for those not in the know, tempoyak is fermented durian. Could explode when incorrectly prepared, too.)

    Ha...
    Barf, barf
    Wobble
What? You don't like herring or something?
    It's time to settle this...
British food isn't exactly popular, but there isn't a single country where serving rotten food is a thing!
    I hate herring... herring...
    Sit down already.
    Oh my, what's the matter?
    A great tragedy aboard me.
After all, it was all rotten and gave off this awful smell.
We'll be fishing for saury again? Going to see Hoppo?
We don't eat crap like that!
..and heedlessly started to slather the room with that herring! Stench and all!
The herring marinated in tomato sauce was sealed away and never served again...
Sure is rare seeing you two together.
The herring was taken back and cheese and pickles were rationed back out...
    It... it didn't taste good?
Ahhh... that herring smell is coming back to me... guh...
    Welcome~
In every corner of the ship were murmurs of how disgusting it was.
but some of the crew felt that wasn't enough.
    How awful...
    Ahhhhh-
    Oiiii!
    Glare
    Wobble
Just thought I'd introduce the foreign shipgirl to Japanese food.
    Jolt
    Smells like ass!
    The Herring Incident.
    Vomit
It's fall! We're having another food event this fall, you know.
    Bleh
So they went to the room of the paymaster lieutenant in charge of the ship's food supply....
    Gah
    H-Herring!?
    How could you eat this?!
One day, the cooks brought out herring marinated with hot tomato sauce in tin cans from storage...
Ah, memories of getting dirty, huh...
Herring are also in season, aren't they? Starting in October.
    Guh
    The hell's this?
    Splash
    How 'bout you have some!?
Ahhh, they're getting my insides all dirty!
    Gulp...
