silvally (pokemon)

Artist's commentary

  • Original
  • Category: Synthetic Pokemon
    Type: Normal
    Height: 7'07"
    Weight: 221.6 lbs
    Ability: RKS System

When Type: Null gains a partner it can trust, it deliberately destroys the restraining device it wears. Once released from that heavy mask, the Pokémon’s speed increases substantially. Freed of the restraining effects of its mask, Silvally’s senses are heightened, and it reverts to its natural temperament. It has a wild nature, but it will obey a Trainer that it trusts. And to protect that Trainer from danger, it will put its own life on the line. Silvally is said to have been created to oppose a threat...

By inserting exclusive items into the drive on Silvally’s head, its RKS System can be activated, causing Silvally’s somatic cells to mutate and glow. The RKS System enables it to change its type, and its cells glow with different colors of light, depending on its type.

Silvally’s Ability is called the RKS System Ability, which no previous Pokémon has ever had. By having Silvally hold items that correspond to each Pokémon type, it can change its own type. Multi-Attack is a move that only Silvally can learn, and this move’s type changes based on which type-related item Silvally is holding.

So this is a human made pokemon that can rival certain legendaries right?

I can only imagine what will happen if science is pushed just a little bit farther?

We already have Mewtwo and Genesect which are pretty powerful. But could we go further. Could humanity create a pokemon that could rival even the godly types?

Probably. The way I see it, humans in the pokemon world are also pokemon which also explains why there's so many nurse Joys and Jenneys. They're probably just humans that breed with dittos.

With how humans in the Pokemon world already create technology that can go through time, and from the distance past to boot, and that in the past there were giant pokemon that were gods of destruction that they found a way to capture, and the fact that magic and psychic exist, creating a pokemon that can rival godly type seems to be a breeze.

I don't understand why they made it an evolution though, considering the change is basically just Type-Null taking off its mask. It could've worked fine enough as an alternate form.

It just feels weird if this thing can breed and its baby will also be born with a mask already on it. Or the notion that these things exists in multiples in the wild, all wearing the same masks.

Or whatever method that will allow both you and Gladion to possess both Type-Null and Silvally, since Gladion is shown to use Silvally as well, so he couldn't possibly give it to you while it is still a Type-Null.

My theory is that Silvally is the original form, and that the mask was created specifically to devolve it by force. It's not that Silvally didn't change enough; it's that the difference between the forms weren't largely necessary. Type: Null was just a synthetic idea of de-evolution, rather than the examples you see occuring in the wild. It might have something to do with the way the mask functions.

That would be dumb, like if Mewtwo could also breed and create other baby Mewtwos. I think Silvally is meant to be a Foil to Mewtwo of sorts, moreso than Genesect. Mewtwo is to slate as Silvally is to conglomerate rock; the idea being that one has a uniform all-in-one design while the other has a patchwork all-in-one design.

Or whatever method that will allow both you and Gladion to possess both Type-Null and Silvally, since Gladion is shown to use Silvally as well, so he couldn't possibly give it to you while it is still a Type-Null.

Either that was very early in development, or:
-The one you get is akin to the second Mewtwo, where another one was created in the same lab as Gladion's. This is the only other Type:Null that may or may not exist, with the intention being that someone wanted an army of these things, but failed to produce enough helmets to keep their power in check, so the project came to a halt and they were only able to create two at the most.

I really can't picture it breeding on its own accord, given how it was created with a program installed in its cleft area. The fact he uses Silvally is pretty baffling given you can have Type:Null, but time will tell if the thing is still worthy of being called a legendary, at least to the extent of Manaphy, Mewtwo, or the Lati duo.

Silvally is the tiers of Alola (Tapu etc., Ultra Beasts, Mimikyu) worst nightmare.
I flinched a Mimikyu online with Air Slash (Yep, Silvally can learn Air Slash) got rid of its disguise and then Multi-Attacked it, as I knew Fairy type was going to be relevant in online battle so I gave it the Steel Memory and wrecked my opponent. Also Silvally's base stats are straight 95.

Type: Null might not be fast, but Silvally IS.
