    I don't know if they're guilting him, smug in their tastiness, want some of it for themselves, or are just friendly and oblivious to what he's eating.

    (PS:)I mean, they try eating their own tails occasionally, and it's outright stated that they can survive having their tails stolen and regrow them...

    It's slowpoke, so I'm going with "friendly and oblivious". "Oblivious" is even the most common ability for slowpoke... I presume slowpoke reacts to being eaten like this.

    In Pokemon Sun, you could even buy slowpoke tails in the Thrifty Megamart. (Well, technically YOU couldn't buy them, but they were on the shelves for "Eye-poppingly cheap prices!")
