Kaguya forgets that she has far more to lose than Mokou. The rabbits. Eirin. Potentially the Watatsukis. Mokou with nothing is Mokou with no reason not to just turn everything Kaguya values to ash.

Well... actually, I think it's more the other way around: now, Mokou does have something to lose - Keine and Mystia - and Kaguya will find that Mokou fights a lot harder when she's protecting something precious to her that she can still save than when she's merely avenging for what she has already lost.

Mokou's the good guy here, and Kaguya's the only one (unfortunately) depicted as a bitch attacking those dear to Mokou to fuel the fire. I really can't see Jouji's Mokou returning the favor by attacking those dear to Kaguya that have nothing to do with their grudge.

I just hope Mitsumoto doesn't pull off a cliché conclusion here. As in: Mokou comes in, beats Kaguya down and then it was all 'just as planned' by Kaguya by keeping her life "fueled". Because it is quite heading into that direction.
It's been heading into an expected direction with each update now, which I find slightly disappointing. I greatly enjoy the updates nonetheless, and this is one of the few comics I keep hoping for updates, but the developments have been fairly expected these days, most especially those regarding Kaguya and her motivations.

I mean, as a whole, Kaguya's motivation been done to death from every possible angle right? What else could possibly be left?
We've seen her do it for Mokou's sake, because immortals need a goal to keep living. We've seen her do it out of personal entertainment. There've even been a couple with the 'haughty princess that needs to oppress the lowly earthling' shtick. I've even seen one doujin where Kaguya only keeps up the game because she's gotten so used to the mutual murdering that she can't even comprehend what life would be like without it, not even because either of them gets any pleasure out of it, just because of sheer innertia.
And Mitsumoto doesn't seem to be throwing curveballs that veer too far out of character canonicity, so there's basically nothing left :/

Mm, I get what you're saying, I just think this feels really generic, or too simple? I don't really know how to clearly explain how I feel about it beyond those words. Just feels like I came to expect more out of Jouji and it kind of fell flat, or something. I haven't read all too many works though, so I can't say about all those angles having been done already (actually if you could point me to those, I'd like to read them, especially the first in the list!). All in all, maybe I'm just disappointed because I was hoping for something more, that doesn't paint my favorite character in a really poor light.

Would you happen to have a link for that last example?
Well, Kaguya may not be anything new, but I'd say Keine's stated attempt to resolve it certainly is different. Personally I'm a bit fuzzy on how screwing with the past works, but simply erasing Mokou's past is a interesting concept. We'll see if she lives to do it though...
