First off, Japan has already set up an exclusive trade agreement with the Netherlands by this point
Secondly, if America doesn't open up Japan, then Britain might end up doing it for them like they did to China during the Opium Wars
Finally, without America, who is going to beat all of the Empire of Japan's radical tendencies out of them. You know, the ones that made them pioneer all of the barbaric tactics used by modern-day Muslim terrorists!

Thing is, that's a bit too simple a view of history/timelines. The Butterfly Effect was named after the fact that scientists trying to find a way to perfectly predict the weather found that a change in air pressure so minuscule as to be rounding errors even the best instruments couldn't detect it would eventually compound into changes to the weather patterns so vast that they bore no semblance to their previous simulations.
Fact is, the simple act of physically occupying space and breathing air is enough to alter the course of history in ways that are incalculable. (Or as I've seen described with Crusader Kings, "All historical accuracy in the game flies out the window the instant a player hits 'Start Game'.")
For all we know, The United States of Abyss is what knocks all the radical tendencies out of Europe during World War 1 and prevents the rise of Hitler in this timeline.

That is not quite true, If British never colonised America, they will struggle with their limited land and resource. If America is not available for the European, It is more likely that the European will continue their wars for resource rather colonising other part of the world, because without the experience and knowledge of all those sea exploration, their Navy technology will lag behind and the Opium Wars could be avoided. Remember that China has a great wall. It is still very effective against land troops, but the fall of China is mainly due to the lack of sea control.
Without the colonisation of European, China will still be the economy powerhouse it was. Also Japan without US, they will never had the industrial revolution and modernisation that they had. It will be a very difference history that nobody could predict what will happen. And I believe it makes sense that Japan and China will be in a much better terms. Japan still admire the culture of China back then. China is also in a peaceful period where they try to avoid war whereas possible. The early age of Qing dynasty is to united all Chinese, the core policy of that age is mainly on internal management. But that is just one alternate history that could happen, Please share your own one.
Just imagine! You could create a history where the Europeans never get out of Europe!I... don't...Kongou, think of what you and your sister can do with your power, if you join us.Our own nation...Where we would never have to hate each other.Where Matthew Perry never came to Uraga; the status of Shogun was never changed and the Samurai never killed each other in a civil war!A peaceful paradise where the Anglo-Chinese War and the Arrow War never happened!
