I totally studied up on this one. Eventually she's a "Trash Spider" that uses the corpses of it's prey to decorate her web in order to camouflage from the avian predators.

So those are her trash picking tongs. Makes sense.
She's still cute which comes into conflict with the whole spider girl thing.
