Kaban is going to get seriously scratched up trying to hold Serval like that.

Speaking from experience, if you want to keep your cat from leaping off the table when about to get a shot (or even just trimming claws), you need to do a full-body press to pin them to the table and prevent their legs from getting any good clawing reach.
