I don't see why even richies would go for the gachas. I mean, for the price some people pay, it would be faster to just hire some artists and programmers to just make a game with unlimited gachas just for you. (Or, you know, just get one of those APIs that let you cheat... I'm not an advocate of cheating or anything, but seriously, blowing $500 on a goddamn mobile game for no tangible benefit is way less healthy.) Thesetwo Extra Credits videos on 'whales' come to mind. It's something where 1% of players pay for 90% of the game's costs, and they're not all richies, a lot are people mortgaging their house because of a game addiction.
