Kinda wondering the reasons behind the strange camo that Taiyou, Zuikaku, Zuihou and ChitoChiyo had.

EDIT: BTW the commentary roughly said "Zuikaku raised Taiyou after she's orphaned by AkaKaga and she gets the same camo as her (not a historical fact)"

Hiding near island lagoons and the like. The hope being that from the air, the green camo ships might look like a part of the island and missed. At least that is was I recall. Mix that with the patterns so that from the air it might throw off the aim point for size, much like the dazzle camo and false bow waves did against submarines. It doesn't hide the ships, just makes it more difficult to guess the range, speed and heading based on visual information only.

Well by 1944/1945 Zuikaku is now the senpai of the CarDiv. She pretty much the 1stCarDiv itself if I recall.
