Kaga failed to cosplay as an Asashio-class destroyer. For one, she forgot the suspenders. For another, her breasts are bigger than Hamakaze or any destroyer. Looks like the all you can eat restaurant banned her.

But on the upside, that bit of midriff on Ryuujou looks pretty sexy.

I think it's less "forgot" the suspenders and more "couldn't pull them over those massive shirt cows.".

She should've gone the Light Cruiser route, or at least Seaplane Tender.

Also, I don't think that a new uniform from a different destroyer class will keep them from recognizing you, you idiotic gluttonous carrier...

    She's wearing your uniform RJ!

If Light carrier had any bans, that uniform can get her in w/o a problem

You'd think the government would compensate for the fact that many shipgirls eat far more than regular humans, proposing a budget for the naval bases to allievate the burden. Or reimburse any restaurant business that caters to shipgirls.

This reminds me of a Sun Tzu quote. On the second chapter, he talks about the logistical costs of long war and how the army can drive up prices and cause economic calamity, which in turn can hobble the war effort.

Given that this is a time of no sea trade, and most likely no air trade given the Abyssal Armada having airfields scattered about too, that is probably the case. I would guess the government is probably already spending a lot on fairy tech and naval forces. If they start making Ship Girls into civilian tax write-offs and business incentives, it's only going to force the government to levy resources even harder and make the war more costly.

I think they kicked her out because they recognized Kaga.

Remember, per strip #367, shipgirls are somewhat famous... but Kaga is a thick headed glutton, so doesn't recognize that. I guess the inverse relationship between the size of their breasts and intelligence are a real thing for shipgirls.

They don't seem to NEED to eat more - we don't see evidence that being a shipgirl changes the needs of their metabolism beyond human norms, save for the aging process. Battleship and Fleet Carrier shipgirls don't seem to require those extra calories, but merely have a desire for them which reflects the behaviour of the ship whose soul they carry.

Plus, if they want to eat in the government's dime, they can do it in facilities run and stocked by said government. I wouldn't expect a normal restaurant to depend on the government to keep them stocked or paid.... especially with how long payments or restocking can take with a government bureaucracy involved.

Businesses have gone bankrupt IRL waiting for paperwork to clear because someone made a typo.

We don't know how badly sea and air trade is affected - there still appears to be some where shipgirls have patrols, and it doesn't look like a total blockade such as in Arpeggio of Blue Steel. Otherwise there should be more rationing - no all you can eat restaurants can exist in a place with total blockage of trade, nor would their tech base be as normal as shown here (they need to import coltan and lithium for their smartphones and computers, which don't appear to be rare).

Shipgirls in the KanColle universe really SHOULD be under martial law and far more restricted movements than they're typically shown to be if all sea trade has stopped, and since they're the only people who can fight Abyssals that can also wander inland per The First Flagship.

Everyone should be under martial law if things are that bad, much as they basically were in England or Japan in WW2 as the country is no longer self-sufficient, especially of they're trying to maintain any sort of post-1800 technology. So the Abyssal threat, while known to civilians, isn't THAT bad - they barely affect civilian life (again, per The First Flagship and Kouji works) in the Kouji verse, and sea travel isn't super-dangerous (or Tokonatsu-kun wouldn't have arrived at Fubuki's base without heavy escort or in a boat). Nor do we see huge storage facilities at it, so Fubuki seems to have a normal appetite.

It's more for comedy that some shipgirls can eat like monsters... and not because they need to, given that they don't appear to require it due to their physiology. That they appear to run in magic explains that, at least in Kouji's version.
