Ever wondered about how (as long as we don't make ourselves extinct) in a few decades people will be thinking to themselves, "oh, those silly backwards people in the '20s," and they won't be referring to the age after WWI, they'll be talking about us?

Do we have a rough guess when these two are suppose to be from?

    Uhh, that's my bad. I wrote 19th century when I meant 20th. That "Dacchuuno" thing is from 1997, apparently, so 20th century. Despite living in the 21st century, I make this mistake a lot... v_v;

EDIT: And I just realized yet again that 80's refers to 1980's. Dammit, I should go to sleep...

Sanae rather early-mid 90's and she mentioned she is rural, which means that region likely lagging behind in trends. Also being shrine maiden and being fully transferred into Gensokyo way earlier isn't helping either. When MoF has been released again?

    2007
She was a fully fledged high school girl when she left for Gensokyo. So she was 16-17 when she left for Gensokyo.

    Close enough.

huh, most of the younglings in my neighbourhood still know what film is, i could say the same for most of the places i've traveled to as well (including major cities in the USA, Europe, China and metro-Tokyo), so i'm guessing Sumireko comes from the 20s-50s?

She's not a time traveler. She's from whatever year is currently on the calendar, so I guess this particular Sumireko just happens to be extra-caricaturish.

Ahh, this isn't going to steal your soul or anything.
I even know that digital cameras don't use film!
    Megapixel...?
I guess. It's got some number of megapixels of resolution, so it should be pretty good.
    Huhh...
In my time, just having a camera on a phone would be a big deal.
The camera is so clear, too.
    Like, "Do you need that?"
    Dacchuuno! reference
Going so naturally into that pose gives such a 20th century feel!
I'm not from that long ago!
    What's film?
    No matter how much!
