    "Modeling Complete",

    a How-to-modeling-3DCG serialization in Born Digital's CGWORLD magazine (July 2004 issue; published in late May).
    The first transformable design from aircraft to a robot.
    I cudgeled my brain, working out this scheme, and realized how difficult it is. Designed in the motif of an F-22.

    It's just a shame that, unlike bipedal robots which are just suboptimal/inefficient, variable fighters would be impossible because having so many separate moving parts on an airframe wouldn't be able to handle the large amount of Gs it would pull, although I think later on in newer series they hand-waved it with some sort of powerful magnetism.
