Yua's Fleet Journal has been going on for over 3 years about a franchise only a little over 4 years old, so it's not like he was just jumping on a bandwagon.

Well, tautologically, someone's done everything that's been done first.

But to speak to the point you're trying to make, it's not like just because The Simpsons took cues from other shows that came before like The Flintstones (which ripped off The Honeymooners, as The Simpsons itself attests) that Family Guy and American Dad weren't clearly trying to steal some of The Simpson's thunder.

It's impossible not to look at this Inazuma, and not see the obvious copying of the art style and characteristics, even if hypothetically, someone else did something like this first. (She looks and acts a hell of a lot less like pepepeko's 'Zuma than Yua's.)
