The Russians did not clashed with French, but their presence mainly avoided the city to be occupied by the bands of Fra Diavolo. However, the state they helped to restore was the Papal one. Italy has a Russian minority, but they mainly own big villas on the Adriatic coast.
Maybe they are oppressed by gardeners and pool cleaners.

I think everywhere has a russian minority just look at US with Alaska... Yes I'm not saying Alaska must be sent back to the Russian Empire because the Russian Empire as it was during the Napoleonic wars (when I think Russia had to sell useless land) no longer existed...

I'm still waiting for more jokes about Gangut's dual Imperial Russian and Communist history. Though considering she was part of the Soviet Union for far longer than Imperial Russia, not to mention her crew mutinied and joined the Bolsheviks, she probably favors the Soviets a lot more.

We actually still have two communist parties: PCI (Italian Communist Party) and the PRC (Party of the Communist Refoundation). Sadly, it's been years since the last time a communist got to seat in the parliament.
