Freezing canned beer or soda... do not ever try this at home.

I've put plastic bottles in the freezer but never cans or glass bottles.
Do they really go "boom"?

Hmm... バコン could be more of a 'whud' than a sharp 'bang'... but yeah, the tab should rupture and the can will rupture - if there are dents or it's a steel one with a stronger tab, then the walls can break open also. Glass will shatter if the lid can't deform enough for the increased pressure (which is why you never freeze glass bottles that are totally full without taking the lid off)

Hmm, I forgot beer in glass bottles in a freezer several times. They didn't explode.

It has to be a totally full bottle with a tight cap, beer bottles don't come full to the brim, usually.

So I guess someone agitated the bottle when she put that bottle of beer in the freezer. If you're careful, you can get some nice super-cooled beer that freezes solid the moment you give it a light tap.

Well, that's if the beer shaking inside the freezer doesn't pop the bottle's neck off first.

They're cans of beer, as shown in Yura's hand in the first panel. Don't even really get that many bottles of beer in convenience stores here, it's almost all cans.

Any kind of carbonated canned drink will eventually pop and burst when in the freezer. The sealed pressure doesn't react well with it.
