Then Akagi would have been kicked out for taking sushi that's been ordered by other people (it usually has, at the very least, something to identify it as being ordered, if not by whom). You can order up anything you want at all the major chains from the screen at the table - and even at smaller ones, you can usually just ask the chef directly. Sometimes the screen will tell you when the one you ordered is coming up on the belt, even.

Screw that! Salmon and shrimp all day every day! (The more low-cost ones, but not the super-cheap ones... although egg is fine for some variety...) I like the lean tuna more than the fatty tuna, anyway, at that...

At both Sushi Ichiba and Sushiro almost everything is on 100 yen plates anyway... As such there's really no distinction between 'super-cheap' and 'low-cost' shrimp, the only time it gets more expensive is if it's tempura or with toppings - except for seasonal fancy-shrimp. (And even then, it's often 100 for 1, rather than 100 for 2 pieces of sushi)

... You know, this just keeps bugging me: How and why the hell is Verniy more devoted to communism than Gangut? Most if not all of the jokes in this comic make sense; this one doesn't. Verniy is a JAPANESE ship that spent far more years in the IJN (1933-1945) than in the Soviet navy (she was retired in 1953, having been reinstated as a Soviet ship in 1948; presumably she was mothballed until her sinking as target practice two decades later). By all logic, what should've been done here is Verniy struggling to not alienate Gangut, who is still clinging to some of the Soviet Union's cultural/political values (which is something that is true for Ido's current depiction of Gangut) and doesn't want to feel isolated as the only "proletariat" shipgirl in the fleet.

Either Verniy has the zeal of the convert or other explanations hold that she underwent some combination of indoctrination to her new nationality after all the survivor's guilt combined with good-ol'-fashioned Manchurian Candidate brainwashing to make her a Commie to the bone.

No, that can't be. There has to be a depth meaning even if the artist didn't though about it. If that relationship between historical "facts" and an innocent comic about an innocent game naming school girls like historical ships can't be found in EVERY single case, then their OCD wouldn't let them sleep until a vague match is found.

It's the same kind of people that go to Wikipedia's Ice Age film entry and fill a chronological essay about every animal featured in the movie and how they couldn't meet each other. xD

Yeah, this discussion happens a lot. Another factor that's been pointed out is that Gangut was not initially a Soviet ship either - she was "born" under the imperial Russia and may still have that czarist upbringing within her.

Well, i can chalk it as Veriny, as recent convert, is still very idealistic to the idea of Marxism and Communism, while Gangut as OG is less strict/more indifferent on little things like comfort.

isn't it obvious that she wants Gangut to have the less expensive ones because she's PAYING for these?
