In canon too, Hina is also supposed to be a benevolent Youkai. Kinda like how Absol is also supposed to be a good pokemon. Both tend to get a bad reputation due to what happens afterwards. Hina doesn't bring misfortune to people, it's just that if you hang around her, you get caught in the cross fire of her absorbing it. And Absol doesn't bring destruction, it's just that it tries to warn people of destruction that was already gonna happen.
