Still, it's hilarious how Disney being trigger happy with their lawsuits has become something of a running joke with the Japanese.

IIRC Disney is not very trigger happy with their properties in Japan but apparently the Japanese artists just want to be extra careful with it anyway.

Well, I did think that too, but a while ago my teacher taught us a bit about copyrights in my country - and whilst explaining some things, he showed us a fan-made video [animation] of a comic I liked since I was a child.

How to say this - it's like I came to the realization that sometimes it's for the best for the copyrights to be respected and only the more or less official portrayal to be there, for the sake of the children. Even if it had to crush every other [as nice as they might be] fan-made stuff.

Considering that the artist is ido I'd rather believe it's Verniy than Gangut

I think the lower middle ema would be Kaga's since Zuikaku's clothes got new colors for her Kai while Kaga didn't because her real-life counterpart didn't had the chance to have a remodel either.

Also Akagi wouldn't bother about getting a Kai or Kai-2 since she has no such rivalry with Zuikaku plus Kaga's Kai might be DDH-184 which is way too new and modern for KDKW Games to add.
