    Commissioned officers higher up who only think they know what they are doing. More seriously, this particular group seems to be a special case. The girls they brought back had rather obviously barely escaped with with their lives from an encounter with another group of abyssals.

    Yeah, he sees all of them the same way: As people.

    Well, in the Abyssals' case, he only does that with the ones that clearly demonstrate that they have actual humanity in them, like the ability to reason... as well recognize that we're perfectly willing to not shoot them dead if they'd just reciprocate the treatment and stop cramping up our commercial shipping routes. Because, you know, those are kinda important for us.

    The Abyssals that are too stupid / insane / bloodthirsty to stop shooting/biting at anything that moves (or trying to) when they're so heavily injured that a super-humane military officer like Hisamura cannot help but take pity on them.

    So the new mega-pool has been created... but the older pools are still around, being described as "sub-pools" in the newly made pool. Is that a thing? I thought old pools are supposed to be deleted when they're merged and, if they formed discrete "chapters" or the like, each such pool's chronologically-first post would be listed on the mega-pool's description for convenience.

    @Garrus, @NWSiaCB, what do you think?

    I don't usually see "sub-pools" unless there's someone really intent on maintaining individual books as pools, but then, there's always a lack of consistent standardization on Danbooru.

    "Chapters" can just be links to first pages of those chapters in the pool description. Consider using the [ expand ] tag if there are a lot of them. Users can just click the pool bar and go back to the main pool page to find different chapters in that way.
