Kind Reimu sometimes feels like a rarity...

I suppose if reimu and suika can always go hunting/fishing for nice stew material, i guess the relative poverty at the shrine isn't a huge issue. Sure, you can't buy stuff at the village or hire people that often but at least she isn't going hungry.

to be fair, most depictions of her involve Reimu on the job or trespassers and lollygagging youkai/gods/ghosts barging into her shrine

I like it when Reimu gets to be nice, cus she is actually p nice canonically.
That much should be clear from how many people she basically takes care of without being asked to.
