    Because unlike in World of Warships, real life shell dispersion is almost always vertical, not horizontal (the shells fall in front of and/or behind the target, not along its length). Moreover, a broadside is a very good way to put all of your guns on target.

    Also, what the hell is a Yama-Musashi class?

    All that said, at this point, Iowa might be better off taking a page out of Taffy 3's playbook: load all of her 5" secondaries with anti-aircraft common, high capacity, and star shells and then aim for Yamato's superstructure. Funny thing that. Yamato's superstructure isn't really armored.

    HC, AAC, and star shells won't sink Yamato, but they will put her out of the fight by shredding all sorts of slightly important things. Like rangefinders. And floatplanes. And electrical systems. And radar.

    Of course, one of her "USA punches" might accomplish the same effect because Iowa has an easy 62,000 shaft horsepower on Yamato.

    Because KanMusu are not built like real warships, and her broadside is also directly in front of her.

    Also, their bodies aren't flat sides like a real warship, either, so it's not like there's an obvious angle that's the best place to take a shot.

    I swear, almost every time I see a Kancolle art of Iowa together with another BB, this shit of a debate happens. And every time I forget about that fact and scroll down, I get brain cancer all over again.

    No, Yamato-class is Yamato-class. Yama-Musashi class is obviously something entirely different.

    It's because in World of Warships, they made Musashi a separate ship that was premium so they could make more money. Most other ships are just classes of ships. (I.E. you get A Fusou-class battleship, which could hypothetically be any of the many, many, two of them.) It's sort of like how CS players used to refer to Desert Eagles as "DEagles".
