Let's take a look at that strange blurb for Ichirin and Unzan because it's a doozy. For starters, 雲を切らせて doesn't make any sense here, right? It's weird because the sentence is a play on the phrase "肉を切らせて骨を断つ", "taking a minor wound (flesh wound) to deliver a severe wound (slice through the bone)". Goromaru substitutes the word for cloud into the first half of the phrase to relate it to Unzan, and changes the second half of the phrase to 肉を断つ, abstaining from meat. The original phrase is often equated to the english idiom "losing a battle but winning the war" because they have similar meanings and are used in similar circumstances, but Goromaru just picked the phrase to make a pun about cutting meat out of one's diet. There's no sense in trying to translate it literally because the phrase is just a metaphor, ideally a good translation would pick a common english phrase that you could turn into a pun about being vegetarian. On the other hand the point of the pun is just to say he abstains from meat so if you get too fancy, the meaning might get buried. But I'm afraid this dumb joke is the best I got today. What a needlessly long explanation for an unimportant little line.

"Eats heart" is an idiom along the lines of someone having a firm resolve or strong beliefs.
