Come to think of it, for the first time ever, I wonder if any other religions than Christianity issue prayer-books. I would imagine the default is follow-my-leader, with the officiant pronouncing, and the congregation answering as in call-and-response.

Do you count central religious texts like "Holy Bible" for Christianity or Qur'an for Islam? I can confirm for Eastern Orthdox Christianity that they does issue prayer-books (as in "book's contents are prayers for an any occasions").
