Problems with this Test Chamber: 1: Checkerboard pattern is reserved for areas you are SUPPOSED to place the portal, but you can't put a portal on those stairs. 2: Nothing is displayed to trigger the release of the companion cube needed for the button. 3: The blue dots should only be lit up if currently active, which would require that the cube be on the button already, thus rendering the door open. 4: The energy ball receiver has already been triggered, but it displays no connection to be activating anything. 5: The door opening into the Observation room appears to be entering from the test chamber itself.

2) It may be an auto-release (ex: the Companion Cube). 3) Blue lines turn orange when they're active. 4) That's a shooter, unless you mean the blue lights around it, but I don't know as much about the pellet pieces.
Hilarious in Hindsight? This puzzle is solvable with the inclusion of the Excursion Funnels. Depends on the walls we can't see, but in theory, possible.
This Chamber is not hard for a mapper (I mean the one makes map) to design, bit I think it's too easy to open the door, and too hard to control the gravity (it's hard to find out where you are and how far to the exit door).
