    These kanji combinations aren't in the dictionaries (and some of them have no definition without being in a combination), and trying to Google any of this only gets hits to passages of Journey to the West that are just giant blocks of kanjis that don't give me the context to really figure out what they mean.

    In other words, it's basically just a kanji only used in Japanese as a translation artifact from the Chinese version of the story or the actual place names they refer to. (Sort of like having a Mt. Olympus, except there's a specific kanji for it. "花果山" is just "Mt. Huaguo", but I don't really know how what "石猿水簾洞" is supposed to mean, so I'm just throwing out the general meaning of individual kanji.)

    I found a list of his titles... but I'm not sure it'd actually help clear things up- it's in the story's native Chinese.

    Ah, never mind. 水簾洞 is literally just "Water Curtain Cave"- that's the cave's name in English translations, and his monkey troop claims it as part of their territory. It's a cavern behind a waterfall with a rather fantastical interior.

    If we go by the original way Son Wukong introduce himself in the novel, it will be:

    "(Born in the) Flower and Fruit Mountain, (live in the) Water Curtain Cave, (as the) Beautiful Monkey King, (title is) Great Sage Equal to Heaven, Sun Wukong."

    The part in the bracket is implied and not spoken, so if the introduction above is a direct quote from the novel it will be just the 4 name above follow by Sun Wukong.

    I dont know Japanese but i hope this help.

    Okay, I think I have a handle on it. The tricky bit is figuring out what are words that get translated and what are proper names that get transcribed.

    With tone marks

    Verily, it is I,
    the Stone Monkey born upon Mount Huāguǒ in Eastern Shèngshén Province in the land of Àolái;
    Lord of the Shuǐlián Cavern, Beautiful Monkey King;
    Great Sage, the Equal of Heaven: Sun Wukong.

    the Heavenly Sage of Qi, I am Sun Wukong!
    Skree
    Master?!... All the "master"s in this chapter are actually "Shishou", as in a master and coach of martial arts
    Is this Golden Snub Noses' rumored master -ssu?
    It is I, the Stone Monkey born upon Mt. Huaguo in the Eastern Kingdom of the Gods, Lord of the Waterfall Curtain Cavern, risen to Beautiful Monkey King, This is obviously a reference to Journey To The West, but it's so much archaic proper noun kanji gibberish to me. (Help, other translators!) Granted, it's meant to be gibberish to the others, too.
    You can just call me "Seiten Taisei"! "Heavenly Sage of Qi"
    tōshōshinshū gōraikoku wa ka- This is what Sun Wukong just said phonetically. As in, it was just a bunch of sounds to them.
