It seems Mashu is leaning more toward being the stand in for the player while RiyoGuda is still just a terrible demon god that must be subdue for the greater good of the world.
Mashu’s complaint is exactly the same as mine. Those fucking ? classes are the bane of my existance, especially since I hate having to look at the wiki because I dislike tabbing back and forth or getting help. And it’s always some bullshit opposite class of whatever I send in. The bars are also a pain since NP spamming is my only way to win. My greatest fear is always breaking one bar only to find the next bar is 10x the previous amount, like they did with Hijikata. Fucking bastard...but I understand the need of it for challenge sake, I guess.
On the last note, the only one I have major, major, MAJOR problem with the demerit NP is Jeanne. And the main reason for that is because her god damn second interlude is still not out yet in the NA version. Without it, she is barely usable since two turn stun for 1 turn boost is just shit. It doesn’t help that my NA account is crap with only Jeanne being my only means of offense. Until they have her second interlude, I can barely even play. Still love her though.

Jeanne even without using her np is great. As a ruler she has little weakness and she’s a great tank. But my complaint isn’t about Jeanne but the fact that her 2nd interlude still haven’t been released at the NA server yet. I like Jeanne alot, I just think that her demerit sucks ass compare to all others. A 2 turn stun for a subpar support np is just horseshit. The healing is not even worth it either, unless you np 5 her, since it will still be knock down due to losing an entire turn/chain and Jeanne, like Mashu, always tend to dominate the card orders. At least for mine.
At least they didn’t turn her into a female Arash with La pucelle.
