2018 LOL Worlds Final Illustration

Congrats to iG won the LoL Season 8 Worlds Championships! It also proves that S8 belongs to LPL. I am looking forward to seeing how the power rankings would change among the major regions in S9!!

Added to Wow That Was Fast because it was posted by the artist within hours of the series ending, although it took longer to share here. Will be adding annotations.

KT Rolster, the Korean top seed that IG beat in 5 games in the quarterfinals. (Also the last team to take a game off of IG in the tournament.)

100 Thieves and G-Rex, who were the other two teams alongside IG and Fnatic in Group D.

Wang Xi Cong, owner of IG and son of the 3rd-richest man in China. Famously played one LPL game (and won).

Rookie in tears being consoled by TheShy as shown in the booth after the title was won.

Ning, who was named Series MVP after stepping up massively (including a combined 13/3/29 KDA for the series).

JackeyLove and Baolan carrying the Summoner's Cup together like they did when they carried it off the stage.

Game 1: Rookie (Lissandra) and TheShy (Sion) show IG's trademark solo lane strength against Caps (Irelia) and Bwipo (Urgot) respectively.

Game 2: Ning (Gragas) makes plays all over the place and finishes the game unkilled as well. Meanwhile, TheShy (Irelia) tower dives almost with reckless abandon but Fnatic including Rekkles (Ezreal), Caps (Azir) and Broxah (Lee Sin) is unable to do much.

Game 3: Rookie (Galio) is solid again but it is JackeyLove (Kai'Sa) who is the biggest star, reaching 10/0 at 17 minutes. Even a Baron steal by Broxah (Jax) isn't enough to stop IG closing the series and winning it all.

Fnatic and IG face each other as they did during the opening ceremony. Only difference between the illustration and the real thing was Ahri wasn't with the Summoner's Cup in the real thing.

"Rise" was performed during the opening ceremony by Bobby, Mako and The Word Alive. Ironically, the featured players – Faker (SKT), Perkz (G2), Uzi (RNG) and Ambition (GEN.G) had all been eliminated already. "Sights in Korea" refers to an old G2 vacation meme from their MSI 2016 underperformance that cost Europe a top seed that year at Worlds.

"Pop/Stars" was also performed during the opening ceremony, with the champions joining the artists providing their moves and voices onstage via AR.
