I don't think she is eating it, more like when a puppy/dog plays with something and ends up breaking or ripping it apart in the process.
Those aren't mutually exclusive, our old dog would tear the shit out of it's beds like giant chew toys, most of it would end up all over the floor, but some of it ended up coming out his ass a day or two later.
