I'm suddenly reminded of the four steps of (Western) alchemy:
    1. Nigredo (lit. Blackness) Decomposition step. Associated with decay, putrefaction, Saturn, and in Jungian psychology, angst (arising from growing awareness of shadow aspects)

Obviously this is Clarisse's shtick. She has difficulty moving past this step though.

    2. Albedo (lit. Whiteness)
Purification step. Associated with life, duality (splitting into two), anima/animus, hermaphroditism, the Moon, and in Jungian philosophy, insight (into shadow aspects).

The Ouroboros can also be associated with purification, though it's more often associated with Rubedo or the repeating cycle of alchemy as a whole.

Cali's alchemy is heavily linked with Albedo (creation of 'life', and creation in general), and both his character (background, personality, etc.) and her character design have heavy emphasis on 'duality'.

    3. Citrinitas (lit. Yellowness)
Transmutation step. Sometimes omitted and folded into Rubedo (and a bit into Albedo), especially on later alchemical texts.

Associated with the Sun, the dawn, spiritual or physical awakening, the image of a wise old woman (or man), and in Jungian philosophy, dawning comprehension.

    4. Rubedo (lit. Redness)
    Completion/Culmination.

Associated with success, completion, wholeness, transcendence, unity of opposites, the Philosopher's Stone, the phoenix, the image of a crowned king, roses, blood, etc. (a lot of things, basically). On the celestial sphere side of things, it's associated with the union of the Sun and Moon (or Sun alone, if Citrinitas is omitted) In Jungian psychology, Rubedo represents individuation and wholeness of the Self, i.e. the merging of the ego and (all the aspects of) the self.

Cali also has a lot of Rubedo imagery, from her clothes to her crown to her Ouroboros. (Hardly surprising from one who has mastered alchemy.)

Could you let me know if there's anything wrong?
Judging by the nature of your technique, I gather that you have received no help or cooperation from others as well.
I'm surprised there's someone who could polish such a technique into something usable in combat. And above all, it's interesting, yep.
    Yup,   yup.
Ahhh... My bad, my bad. I get a bit testy around a fellow colleague in the same profession, y'see.
    Your technique is amazing.
    It's amazing.
Well... like I said. Your alchemy.
The alchemy specializing in control of the disintegration effect at the moment transmutation is interrupted, I mean. That degree of theoretical background and fine control isn't easily attainable via normal means. Well, not by anyone who isn't me, that is.
    Huh?
