    Although I have to wonder how the law would come down on this sort of thing. I don't know Japan's legal system, but it seems like he could probably get away with saying there was child abuse going on, so he just bought the kid a meal.

    Not on Japan. Apparently, walking the same direction as a woman for more than 10 meters is enough to suspect you of being a rapist/stalker.
