There's nothing hypocritical about that behavior. (The word has a meaning, you can't just throw it out at anything you don't like.)

Beyond that, Might No. 9's many and varied failures to deliver the product promised to backers is pretty well-documented, and just saying they're "losers" doesn't make them invalid.

It's perfectly obvious that platformers in the same vein as classic Megaman are popular on digital distribution sites, and if Inafune wasn't banking on raising expectations just because of his past accomplishments and promise to exceed them, the game wouldn't have been funded in the first place. The backlash should he fail to deliver is to be expected and the many scummy ways they treated their customers earned the ire they got.

Another company taking advantage of that to showcase how there's no shortage of competition to Megaman-style games is just doing business. There certainly is something disgusting about a indie company needing to give a 77% off sale to even be noticed amidst the AAA trash and washed up big names, but it's not how the indie company is "hipocritical" for trying to advertise how they made a better game.
