    Because she did her job and the counterforce wasn't supporting her anymore (She is one of the perfect examples of people becoming a heroic spirit through the aid of the counterforce and spread her legend) The Counterforce in time of need selected a individual and temporarily gave them power, it also could influence their personality during that time.
