I could go on about how none of this applies to Mokou, but I feel like that would be missing the point.

If you became an immortal, after the first few centuries you'd most likely come to terms with the fact that none of this crap matters. Eternal life is a silver bullet against earthly desires.

Until that pair of shoes you really love gets its soles torn off. Then you either have to fix it yourself with half-assed sewing, or go to the village and have a cobbler sew it back together.

Just because you're immortal doesn't mean your stuff are as well.
