Law changes in Holland forced Tenboro, the main administrator of Ex Hentai to either close it down ASAP or in next few hours have Europol SWATing his house, seriously. Along with that he also said that he want to retire from maintaining E Hentai, which will probably go down at the end of this year.

Tho worth noting that he also is considering creating read-only archive site for what is already collected, but without EX stuff, obviously.

And the EX stuff is most important. Besides h-works, there is tons of safe stuff that literally don't exist anywhere besides that site.

Welp I'm going to go on a downloading marathon. E Hentai has tons of out of print concept art galleries.

EDIT: Done. I'm ready for it to die now. ;_; Hopefully people start uploading future galleries to other image boards.

Politics using archaic laws to uphold morality. Preposterous and hypocritical of them. Nevertheless, we salute sadpanda for being with us for so long and now there isn't any other site to rely on.

Also died before the start of C96, which is a major letdown since there aren't other sites that are as reliable as sadpanda when it comes to the latest content.

It’s common to go after low hanging fruit simply cause it’s easier and you can make it look like you’re accomplishing a lot when what you’re achieving does actually very little (if anything at all). Looking like you’re doing something tends to end up rewarding you more than actually working but being less noticeable.

I can understand his decision to bow out. Encyclopedia Dramatica's original owner got burned out on the nightmare of maintaining it and it has gone through at least a half-dozen hosts since then.

Today, the king of Hentai sites has fallen. Why is modern society so intent on taking away everything I love? If this was for the children, it was short sided as you've stopped one of the only things keeping some of the worst members at bay. If it was for our own good, you've just incentivized us to go into even shadier places where we may lose ourselves. No, this was done for personal feelings and to make a scapegoat.

Do your part fellow lovers of Hentai, and be prepared to fight tooth and nail for whats left and, hopefully. whats to come.

I'm not happy about any image board being closed, but I'm going to be real here, hentai does not prevent pedophiles from preying on children. Law enforcement raids and parents keeping an eye on what their children are doing at all times and who they associate with is what prevents predation. I do think loli stuff does have an increased chance of normalizing pedophilic fetishes (just as exposure to pornography increases the probability of children being sexually active) but most people have self control to not commit crimes even if they develop that fetish and opportunity coupled with desire overwhelmingly is the cause for most crimes, not environmental influence. Like people who when arrested blame their upbringing for their life of crime, I laugh at them because it wasn't their childhood that lead them to crime, it was their choice to commit it. Their past may influence them, but they aren't a slave to their upbringing. We aren't robots who only can act according to our programming.

The problem is that in most places around the world, politicians simply do not care what their citizens think. Often there is nothing concrete to actually give them incentive to change their mind since most people will go for the emotional appeal so long as they think they aren't affected by the consequences. It is the same reason politicians can keep doing unproductive things like increase minimum wage, despite anyone who has an understanding of economics knows that when the minimum wage goes up, people only get poorer due to the devaluing of currency. But it feels good in the present and enough people can virtue signal others into being lemmings.

The best thing we can do is save everything we can on external drives, and always try to upload and spread it to different sites whenever possible. Share with friends whenever possible as well. Sure it sounds really labor intensive and low tech, but that is how things were just a few decades ago, and it wasn't all that bad. We got too dependent on the internet as the sole means of transporting information, but the internet is entirely under control of the government whenever their whims dictate it necessary and nothing online should be considered completely permanent.

    A lot of stuff

Oh, I wasn't implying that Loli stuff was keeping Pedos at bay, I was implying that's what the normies think, and also how even this line of thinking was flawed if you put a little bit of logic into it. People think too much with their hearts and should ask the simple question of "What is a problem affecting me and those that I love, and which candidate is actually talking about it?". I guarantee you that the vast majority of people wouldn't be worried about what some so-called pedos are doing with drawing as opposed to, say, what the government is doing with our tax money, how companies have the government in their pocket via lobbying, etc., you know, stuff that everybody can get behind. Hell, busting actual child sex rings would be a far more lucrative endeavor than this, but I'm sure we all know this is so they can censor anything they dislike and be heralded as heroes by the ignorant masses...

I don't think going old school will solve our current dilemma here, as the other side certainly won't be going old school as well and may find it very easy to quash people with thousands of saved pictures. Whatever needs to be done, I'm game, just as long as we don't become as bad as those that did this...

E-Hentai is comfirmed to close down at the end of 2020, unless something will happen. Tho worth noting that Tenboro is planning to do read-only archive and maintain it for some time.

Thankfully though, a serious effort to make a replacement for ExHentai is being worked on:

Nothing can be viewed yet, but it's possible to submit works and check what's been uploaded so far.

https://is2.4chan.org/h/1564751375995.jpg This is basicaly copy-pasta from Discord because administrator is using mostly IRC as every oldfag but tl;dr - Some anonymous helpers donated money for new servers in Moldovia and transport of everything. It's over, you can archive stuff but for now Exhentai is safe.

Still, i kinda agree with @Illusive in that there's huge lesson for everybody, not only about Ex-hentai but overall online stuff - It's not permanent, it will not be there forever. If you find doujin you like or picture or video etc. it's good idea to save it on disc because there's always possibility that it will disapear from the internet.

I agree. Even though it’s back (for now), this is a major wake-up call. There’s a lot of stuff out there that can only be found on Exhentai, which isn’t a good situation. We need redundancy.

That goes for Danbooru too. There’s a lot of stuff here that I’d never be able to find again if this site went down.

it wasnt exactly a money issue of course when you are moving large swaths of data it will also become part of the uncalculated expense than ordinary and thus the server move needed that money else all the data we know goes down the drain...
