you should try getting crappy wooden chopsticks. it's easier to fuck it up than you think.

I've used many tens of cheap bamboo chopsticks pairs. The only time I've split them not cleanly was during Osaka's Chopstick Splitting Contest. Dunno, maybe all the chopsticks I've had contact with were exceptionally high quality.

Okay, now you guys are making me feel bad. I will admit (not-so-proudly) I have never been able to split them cleanly. I know I'm doing it wrong.

I'm not even good at splitting chopsticks, but I am very good at using them as utensils for eating. we all have something to brag about.

This is when using a thin knife comes in handy ^_^

exactly. nobody's perfect.

You split them incorrectly by thinking you're going to split them incorrectly.

Only happened to me once, and it wasn't my first time either lol
