I still find it funny how Nintendo fans justify HD, net gameplay, service subscriptions, DLC, optic media, good multipurpose controllers and other common ground features through gaming generations... and twisted mental gymnastics.
Someone on Twitter aptly commented that calling someone a Gameboy is not an insult.
"You had almost nothing to work with, but you changed the world."
That's what it means to be a Gameboy. It's a huge honor.
See, mental gymnastics. I'm having a lot of fun right now watching Pokemon fans justifying their DLC "Nintendo would never do that (but it's Gamefreak, not Nintendo -yeah, right-)" train of thoughts. Same with every feature not implemented by Nintendo on every current generation.

Pokemon have DLCs? Since when? Genuinely curious since the last time I had played a Pokemon game was in the Ruby/Saphire era.
You can have a look about that here. In retrospective Pokemon has always been DLC since the red/blue version. Before the phrase "downloadable content" was a thing there existed another on the PC gaming world since the DOS days: "expansions". Basically the red version was an expansion of the blue one or vice-versa. The people really into this franchise won't fool anyone, they brought both versions because they can't depend on another friend to buy the other expansion. Remember people outcry when Capcom was selling apart content already included on the game disc during the Xbox 360 days? Well that's Pokemon since the beginning. Then we have the Pokemons available as event only. Events you have to, you know... PAY for an entry.
I love Nintendo products as anyone else. Yet I can't stop laughing about people thinking Nintendo is different to the others. Well, we have to admit is different in the sense they are late in almost everything. Then they just use a different wording to make it look "the right way".
I'll be here waiting for your justifications when Nintendo starts streaming games on platforms they will never work on, like the smartphones they used to say it would never happen.
I'm just sticking with the old consoles since they're built like a tank and the new shit cost me too much.
Plus I have a bunch of old but good GB, GBC, GBA and DS games and all of those things last forever on batteries instead of the damn phone which has to be recharged every day if I use it for more than 3 continous hours.
Plus while I liked games on the PSP, that thing was way too fragile for a portable, my original one broke in 2 years and my 2nd hand one is barely being held together with 2-component glue and ductape. Its a good console but its a terrible portable.
What? The Gameboy smashed its competition. Raw sales numbers confirm this. Piss off with your inflammatory remarks.
For instance I'm criticizing the shit out of Swsh for being the rushed mess it is.
So is the PlayStation 2. In fact any Playstation (from 1 to 4) sales more than Switch. But of course you'll conveniently brush off that.
Can't we all have fun with what we have instead of using ephemeral press releases to justify our brought product? I'll enjoy any product as long as it offers what I want, it doesn't have to be Nintendo only. If I don't like something I'll buy something else. You should do the same with your "new" Pokemon game.
Why are you making all these assumptions about someone's opinions based on my one comment about the success of the Gameboy?
The PS2 changed the world too. I don't like many games on the Wii. The Wii U is basically a failure of hardware design. Nintendo's handling of supply for the NES Classic and many early amiibos was laughably ruinous.
Don't assume you instantly know everything about a person based on one word of praise. Jesus.

PS2 never changed the world. The DS and GameCube did. Most love many games on the Wii, the Wii U was NOT a failure of hardware design and Nintendo’s handling of supply for the NES classic and many amiibos were completely brilliant. Stfu dude.
