Looking at this comment section today, in hindsight, I hope that "all good things to happen" would be the huge relief after all this shit happening today is ended. And yet people at twitter already joking that they won't be surprised if aliens come in april.
Even if the Olympics had gone as planned, it's not like the it's good for the area that gets it anyway.
While it's true the Olympic bid has been less and less popular over the years, it brings alot of tourism. A not-so-insignificant part of the modern Japanese economy relies on consumption of media and goods from Chinese people; tourism by mainlanders is another huge boon, therefor, the Olympics would have been a killing.
