It's definitely supposed to be 9s, the kyuu in her name is a pun on the japanese word for nine, also read kyuu, and she is the ninth child of Miare.

That's what they look like, yeah, but her name doesn't even feature の in its proper written form, and post #2226976 already makes use of the 9 pun in her name. And の doesn't mean "no" it's read as "no", which is very different. Unless の has some meaning that would make it relevant to Akyuu outside of technically being part of her name, though omitted in writing, it seems like just a randomly chosen symbol. 9 makes more sense thematically.
