Its the costume change. Early in the series, the Peanuts-style "wall conversation" hides most of her lower body and, when we do see more of Akagi, the difference between her skirt and kimono are not distinguished. Showing her skirt makes it more obvious where her sleeves begin and end.

You know, I would totally like for lil' Enty to not remember anything about WWII. As in, the only thing she saw resembling combat was an exercise in 1940 where she got sunk by Ranger and her last memory is of one Sunday morning early in December where a storm is making her worried about missing a baseball game with Arizona.
Or Lil' Enty ends up with Akagi as a sort of exchange.
This strikes me as a horrible idea where absolutely everything could go wrong... Eh, how bad could it be, actually. Amagi would be the one calling the shots anyway, whatever Akagi said.
But likl'enty's rigging isn't anything like Akagi-chan's. She'd need a lil'Kaga since they have matching rigging.
... Wouldn't having BB Kaga temporarily convert over to her CV rigging do the trick too? They'd both be learning at the same time, so it should be just like with OG Akaga.
