This is as equally fascinating as it is terrifying.

I'm not sure how this harms the host beyond just controlling them to get close to other infected hosts so the parasites can reproduce.

The young, which look like a hairball, are spread by the wind, and after sticking to a person's head, take a few hours to plant their roots. Once this is done, they cannot be removed. The host cannot be saved. Abandon all hope.
Another notable attribute is the reproductive organs which take the shape of a tail, appearing on maturity in the host's lower back region.
As their name suggests, the Mock Animal Ears family have a shape that imitates a pair of animal ears. They're remarkable parasites that take up residence on people's heads.

    • They take control of the host.
    • After about a month, the reproductive organs, in the shape of a tail, develop on the host's waist.
    • They spread through the host's body by growing along the spine.
    • Within a few hours, they appear in the shape of animal ears.
    • They stick to a person's head.

    • The young, which look like a hairball, are shed.
