    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 3509

MRI stands for "magnetic resonance imaging", it seems. Since it uses super-powerful magnetic fields, bringing in metallic objects is strictly forbidden. If the cosmetics you're wearing contain metal, they'll heat up and burn you.

Incidentally, CT is "computed tomography", which applies radiation to the inside of the body and converts the intensity of what passes through into imagery, or so I hear. This chunky machine inside it spins like all get-out, and it's quite the thing to see.

Reader-added tags as of now are "Kogasanecdote" and "I see, I don't get it".

I hope i never have to get in a machine like that. Having claustrophobia is not great.

I'd probably be really scared and eventually a nervous wreck if I ever got into one of these machines, claustrophobia is really not good for me due to stress/anxiety issues and seeing this machine will probably make things look even more terrifying.

I don't remember if it was an MRI machine or something similar, but I had to get in a machine like this when I had appendicitis. I didn't go in head first, but it's certainly a loud machine.

I remember the MRI. They want you to be still in the machine, but then it lays out some wicked beats.

Had been on the MRI machine three times so far in my life. Before I was a teen, during my teens, and last post college. Staying still was a problem. The thing takes a while, and if you move too much, even when it wasn't that much of movement, they gotta restart and you gotta stay still longer. Tedious stuff. On my first time, they got to the point where they had to tranquilize me to actually get it done.

Doubt I'll have to do more for the rest of my life, considering I got screws on my spine now. Thankfully. Even without claustrophobia, I remember the feeling of both unease and boredom.

    Oooh!
    Like a Park Attraction
    So this is an MRI!
A high-tech machine that applies super-powerful magnets to the hydrogen atoms in the body so they resonate and generate radio frequencies...
...then converts the strengths of those frequencies into images!
    During recording...
    G'knk G'knk
That machine seems like it'd be traumatic for people with claustrophobia...
    G'knk G'knk G'knk
※Securely restrained so her head doesn't move.
    All done!
    What a racket...
