Digital oils with Painter X. Not quite a speed painting as this took more than a few hours, but I didn’t bother with excessive detail or touch-ups. This picture originally started out as just practice, but I liked the clouds so much I decided to just keep going. I think I may do another version later with a slightly different background.

This main command center of the Army of the Southern Cross from Robotech. I took some liberties with the base of the tower as well as its size relative to the rest of Monument City. I originally planned to put in some crashed Zentraedi ships in the background, but I couldn’t get them to look right (and they got in the way of the clouds – lol).
