If putting a small thing in the box makes a bigger thing, it is possible to get more energy output than input.

Just need the right setup. Something other than causing earthquakes with a gold bar would be a good start.

But putting in foreign object seems to summon something from beyond. How would you get past that? And I doubt it would care about getting Rick Roll'd.

I was gonna say, the Giant Otter team already tried that sort of thing, and it didn't work out so great.

We still don't know the extent of that and what they did. If it's just something that has to be in the room first, then they could try putting a gigantic crank turbine in the room that powers a small robotic claw that turns the crank turbine model in the doll house.

Of course, something could still go incredibly wrong there, but you gotta crack a few eggs when trying to exploit the dark ones for the betterment of mankind.
