Are 5* so important though? Can't one make do with 4* characters?
Look deep down and ask yourself that same question as you play any other gacha game. Would you really really settle for something below an UR or below a Golden/Rainbow card?

Well YES,i say 80% or even 95 people that play gacha game WANT getting Shinny/Sparkling Result. but if you and others feel "WHOLE" By flexing that tempoary LUCK,Then you guys should go to Psychiatrist

Of course you can,but it just need more work for make through to end-game content. while 5 Star require slightly work. but eventually you'll get 5 Star

Nobody said anything about feeling "whole", satisfaction and joy from gambling success is a normal response as long as you don't let it become an addiction.
As someone who has 4 5* characters I can safely say no.
It took me from November to now to make to make the first one I had Diluc to actually be usable for higher level content.
Especially considering that Xianling can do pretty much the same as my Diluc and she's for free.
Out of the 4 I have Tartaglia is the only one I can say was worth it.
I fucking hate the grind to get Ganyu and Qiqi to be good enough to even use for non hard content.
I'd be lucky to get them to be usable before June or July.
So yeah no you really wouldn't want to get that many 5* in this game.
Same with FGO only the grind is even worse compared to here.
How could it take you months to raise a character? Even casual play should only take a few weeks, and that's being generous. I have five 5☆s, and all of them are level 80+. It didn't take me 3 months each. None of them have optimal artifacts (fuck that grind), and I don't even have a single 5☆ weapon.
Are you suggesting 5☆ characters take excessively more resources to raise? Because that's just absurd. They do take more, but not so much more that raising a 4☆ character is preferable just for the easier grind.

You don't need to grind artifacts for a character to be useable in "non hard content"? You don't even need to grind artifacts for actual hard content. My artifacts are far from optimal and I can clear Spiral Abyss just fine.
Ganyu is also stronger than Tartaglia, I can't even imagine what you could be doing that she needs the best possible artifacts at max level for easy content.
Edit: Actually, no, your claims make no sense whatsoever if this is just about artifacts. Character rarity has no affect on the artifact grind, you can't say players wouldn't want to get a lot of 5☆s because of a grind that's the same for all characters.
